Martina Navratilova defeated Manuela Maleeva in the final, 6–3, 6–2 to win the singles tennis title at the 1990 Virginia Slims of Chicago.[1][2][3]

Zina Garrison was the defending champion, but lost in the semifinals to Maleeva.
